About Judge Megan Goldish

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois, Judge Megan Goldish completed her juris doctor at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 1996. She was a Moot Court semi-finalist at the school and alumni liaison for its Student Bar Association. She also served as corresponding secretary for its Journal of International Law and Business. Upon graduating, Judge Megan Goldish began practicing law in Cook County, Illinois. She was elected as a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County in 2014, and currently sits in Domestic Violence Court.
In this capacity, Judge Goldish reviews confidential records and research related to daily court hearings for criminal, civil, felony, and misdemeanor domestic violence cases. Her background in law as well as her experience as a supervising attorney of the WINGS program, positions her to approach these cases with empathy. In addition, she presides over civil matters such as hearings for plenary orders, gun restraining orders, no-contact orders, and emergency orders of protection.
In addition to her daily responsibilities behind the bench, Judge Goldish is highly involved in community activities and supports a number of nonprofits. She serves as president of the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind's junior board and has performed volunteer work for the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation and Bright Star Community Outreach, among other organizations.
